Black Hill’s collaboration play on a high end varmint round that can be shot out of standard AR’s and other widely available .223 caliber firearms. This is an excellent excuse to try out a new ammo and see if you like this sport called Varmint Hunting. The round utilizes a 40 grain V-Max bullet and moves out of the barrel at 3600 feet per second velocity. It also achieves 1150 ft. lbs. of energy, and while it isn’t the most potent round that you can find for varmint work, it is a good middle ground load that will help you explore the ins and outs of basic varmint hunting.
Black Hills has been in the ammunition and ammunition component game for as long as most existing shooters can remember. They enjoy a fine reputation for quality and reliability. The Black Hills name is most commonly associated with military production contracts for the 5.56×45. It’s only natural that they would be a serious party in the .223 game too.
The brass case is boxer primed and easily reloadable. The powder is a premium mix and offers very clean performance. The Hornady projectile is known the world over as a premium varmint projectile. All-in, this Black Hills load oozes class and sophistication.
