Aguila’s ammunition is simple yet truly dependable – the kind of materiel you can trust to take down the trophy and put you on velvet while you’re practicing your science at the rifle range. This round’s 129 grain soft point projectile is nonmagnetic, surrounded by a sturdy copper jacket, and armed with the lead tip it needs to deliver a predictably long and broad wound column.
We can’t promise what kind of result you would get from this ammo out of your particular rifle. That said, assuming your barrel is 24” long (like Aguila used to record its 2,810 fps muzzle velocity), you can expect about a 0.440 G1 ballistic coefficient from this cartridge. That’ll secure around 1,000 ft lbs striking energy at 500 yards, which means pretty much no deer will be safe from your righteous thunder.
Aguila is headquartered in Mexico, where they load centerfire rifle cartridges with the new brass cases and noncorrosive Boxer primers that satisfy all breeds of shooters – handloaders included!
