Can you really ever have “enough” .223 Remington ammo? Trick question; the answer is always no! Kind of like Modern Sporting Rifles…however many you have is still at least one or two short of what you need.
62 grain FMJ projectiles are one of the two lighter standard weight bullets commonly used in AR-pattern rifles. For these slugs you’ll do well to use a standard 1:7 twist from a 16” carbine barrel, so basically any of the Big-Box M4 clones should digest and shoot this 62 grain FMJ by Winchester.
This is a really good all-around loading to punch holes in paper or varmints. With a standard all-brass case and full metal jacket, you won’t foul up your piece nearly as much as when using Russian steel-case ammo (yes, it’s cheap but there are no freebies; there is always a cost).
If you need to fill up some mags for your ranch rifle, or are headed out to the range for a day, this is as good as it gets. Make sure to pick up a few boxes because one is just never enough.
