How does the Defender jacketed hollow point consistently penetrate to a depth of 14 to 16 inches? That’s thanks in part to its bonded jacket, which is welded to its alloyed lead core. The two components stay fused together during penetration of barriers separating the muzzle from the threat, retaining momentum as a result.
The Defender JHP’s bonded jacket is also notched around its rim. Eight symmetrical notches produce eight long petals that effectively increase the bullet’s diameter by up to 50 percent.
This ammo’s low-flash propellant provides a nighttime advantage. It emits less light in the dark, which helps keep your own eyes adjusted to darkness. This ammo’s nickel-plated brass cases are also just a bit easier to see in the dark. More importantly, they are reloadable, corrosion-resistant and smooth-cycling.
