This is the daily bread kind of 5.56×45 ammo that AR-15 owners all need a healthy supply of. These rounds faithfully meet M193 specs with their 55 grain FMJ bullets. They’re not designed to expand once they find themselves inside of soft tissue, which is why FMJs are usually preferred for target shooting and plinking. You can still count on such bullets to feed without hesitation, avert rapid barrel fouling, and establish flat trajectories after they exit an AR-15’s barrel at around 3,180 fps.
We usually point out that FMJs aren’t meant for self-defense. But we also like to add that ammo like this is pretty much indomitable in a real self-defense situation at close to medium range. Heck, the U.S. Army uses it, and they’re not only interested in target practice if you catch our drift.
Stash this ammo somewhere dry for preparedness’ sake or burn through it all in a single day. You’ll still love its reloadable brass cases, non-corrosive primers which prevent rust, and low residue propellant which preserves accuracy. One thousand ain’t enough!
